Mercedes-Benz Vans has announced that its Sprinter derivative has set a new sales record for the January to March period, accounting for about 45 000 units globally — up 10% compared with 2016’s achievement.

The model posted strong growth in high-volume markets such as Germany (15%) and the United Kingdom (10%). In each country, sales increased faster than overall market growth. Further, the model upped sales significantly in other markets, including Latin America and Russia.

Since its launch 20 years ago, the Sprinter has accounted for about 3,3 million units worldwide and is perceived as one of the most successful commercial vehicles of all time.
