Multinational research, development, and production corporation Ficosa have developed an intelligent rear-view mirror dubbed the IRMS.
As a top-tier provider of high technology vision, safety, and connectivity devices, Ficosa have developed the product as a result of its alliance with Panasonic – integrating the know-how of Ficosa’s products with the technology of the Japanese electronics giant.
The system makes use of an integrated display built into the structure of the interior rear-view mirror, with low light and high glare solutions for added safety on the road.
Although this may be nothing new to the passenger sector, it will greatly improve heavy commercial driving applications, as the device extends the rearward vision up to 50-degrees – more than double that of a traditional mirror with a reduction in blind spots.
